More pain

Further stupidity had been added when I got to work yesterday morning, and, almost unbelievably, someone had applied some common sense, a manager even, I could hardly believe it. A site Medic added the following:

Not to mention the health effects on non smokers. Side stream smoke is worse than smoking.

I have to say I've never heard the term side stream smoke before, is that kind of like jet stream smoke? Oh, and I really find it amusing that he's spelt sat phone as satfone, I mean for fucks sake! Anyway, at this point the voice of reason piped in with this:

I understand the passions that this sort of statement brings out in people and believe that the opinions of everyone are important and valid however when you reply to Linda's e-mail or any of the others tagged onto it you need to understand that you are sending out a trail of e-mails to everyone in Expansion Projects. If you have comments on the issue please send them direct to Linda only, I am sure she will take them on board, this type of issue can easily contaminate electronic mail systems and prevent the normal flow of communication.

I was quite tempted to email him back congratulating him on doing his job and shutting these fuckwits up but refrained as I prefer to just stay off the radar rather than try and sneak under it. I love the fact that this guy was so tactful about it, telling these people that their opinions count and all that... clearly he's quite good at his job. It stopped the bullshit though so I was happy :)

Now I think I'll go have some breakfast.
