and so starts another year
I went to Ice hockey training this evening, first training for the year, and first one I've been to since my car got broken into. Wasn't too bad, turns out I'm a bit fitter than I expected to be... can't complain about that really.
I will complain about the fucking nets we have instead of glass on the boards though. For the second time, my helmet caught on the nets behind the goal... damn near ripped my face off! Unlike last time the straps to my face cage didn't pull through and so it yanked pretty hard. I was skating quite fast when I got hit, my helmet caught on the net and yanked my head back really hard, and with such force that when the helmet finally pulled off my head it slingshot through the air and landed about ten or more metres away from me. I hate those fucking nets! I also got hit in the throat with a puck, but that wasn't too bad, I copped the edge of it so it's just a red line across my neck.
Anyway... some picture from the last few weeks:
I finally bothered to work out how to control the shutter speed on my camera, and took a photo of my newly rigged with lights patio accordingly :)
My best friend Brad and I on new years day at the Perth Cup (Horse Race).
Jason driving me home after some thing at my parents place where I chose to drink rather than drive :)
I hate blowfish, they're really annoying when fishing. I scooped this one out of the water with a net without ever hooking him. He kind of got caught, and stupidly inflated himself making the situation worse. Pulled him out with pliers in the end. It's just such a stupid looking creature I had to take a photo of it :)
My mate Reece has a ski biscuit which we took out on my dad's boat one day. It was great fun.
And that's all I can be bothered posting for tonight... I'm tired and need to go to sleep :)

Yeah Geezer, you're way more handsome than that blowie!
maja: Blowfish are horrible creatures... I don't care what cartoons try to tell us :)
Sarah: It was a deflected puck so not so bad. The whiplash like soreness behind my shoulder blade which developed the next day from the head catching was much worse. And to paraphrase Nirvana, It's okay to be mean to fish cause they don't have any feelings.
Geezer: The lights are totally ace. Welcome for the PC. Brad might be a good kisser if it weren't for the beard, I'm not a fan of beard rash, which reminds me, I should probably go shave :)
Maja: Only just though :)
aw.. i don't know if i can internet heart you anymore.
just kidding. but still.. be nice to the poofy fish.. don't want to be accused of being intolerant!! :o)
