Sun, Patio's and Hockey
Well I've been a busy boy this weekend, doing nothing particularly exciting....well, maybe some mildly exciting things :) Started on my new patio properly today, we sorta started yesterday but only replaced the exisiting gutters which were total crapola (rusted) and weren't sure enough on the other stuff to start it. Today my mate Trent came round and helped us get right into the project. Unfortunately we only got a third of the way done. I now have the frame in place for the big part of the patio, with a few sheets down on it to give it a little structural integrity. I would have taken some photos but i couldn't find the charger for my work camera and the battery is nearly dead... i think the charger is at work.
It was a beautiful sunny day in Perth today, perfect for building a patio. Unfortunately the rain is due to set in on tuesday, and we won't be able to do the rest of the patio till next weekend. Oh well, I guess I know how I'll be spending my birthday.... briefly admiring the finished patio before shooting off to hockey.
Speaking of hockey... It's now 11:45 Sunday night and I've only been home about 15 minutes! I had two hockey games and they were delayed by over an hour cause Mirrabooka ice rink is gay (though I like playing there) and can't keep a schedule. Apart from the fact I think I have a sprained left wrist, which I strapped up for the games I thought both games went really well... for me anyway.. We got annihilated in superleague as usual, however I was only on the ice for for one of the goals against us, which I'd like to think is because I was doing my job as a defenseman well, and the same in senior A, where we drew with the other team from our club. I managed to put on a fair few good hits, without really getting hit myself in both games which was good. Managed to get a beauty in each game, the first in superleague was on a guy who plays for Australia, and I don't believe is used to getting hit (he kept trying to get me back way off the play, and even tried to trip me). I knew the only way to stop him was to hit him so I did, and it worked, yay. The second big hit (which got me a lot of praise from my team mates, and even the guy I hit) was on a guy who I find really annoying cause he's a total twat. I got him good, but I was being a little mean, and decided to level him from the outset, completely ignoring the puck, but he can't do much with it if I stop him so that's no biggy :)
Hmmm, well it's midnight now and I think my dinner should be ready. I'll post half finished patio pics when I take some :)

It's also quite a dangerous rink as the boards are a little uneven.... aguy got his stick caught in the boards a few weeks back in super league and fully speared himself in the guts. He looked like he got hurt pretty bad. Turns out he ruptured his liver!
