I don't get paid enough, or they get paid too much
Now personally I love my job, and am really happy doing what I do, and although I would like to get paid more, I live reasonably comfortably on what I earn. Now I was talking to a guy here on site, and the subject of pay came up, and basically, i'm the second lowest paid person on site, with only the pilots getting paid less than me (they really do get fuck all, especially seeing as they're on a 3 month on, 2 week off roster). Now this guy seems to do sweet fuck all, and what he does do is pretty straight forward... i think he just enters invoices into the computer or something, and do you know what he gets paid? $50 an hour! It's absurd. I'm pretty sure there are people out there who would do just as good a job, for half as much money, oh and apparently his pay went up again, and he gets even more now. It just seems absurdly wasteful to me, but i'm sure if i got paid that much, I probably wouldn't think so :)
Damn, I must just be jealous. Though i think I'd rather do what i do for what i get, than do what he does for what he gets.... he's on a 23 days on, 5 days off roster. two words...... FUCK THAT!

which might be why he gets 50 an hour - no overtime, no rdo, etc etc... he may also be on contract and therefore acrues no holidays...
It's a frustrating fact, but yes, we just have to be happy with the fact that we're doing what we love.
yeah, give it a few years and I don't think i'll still be getting paid less than these people.
Hack the planet!!!
dude,in time you will be high rolling like maja and i.until then, get sweeping the floor and empty the bins.
Funny thing is, based on my standard hours, I may get more per hour than you... not sure though. On actual hours worked this may not be the case, but theoretically i get paid for my "overtime" at the end of the year.
